Who is Robbie?

Published by Admin

Robbie B&W HeadshotRaised and educated in Santa Fe, Robbie has seen remarkable changes in our community. With the fondest of memories, he recalls the quaint nature of living in an environment that was at once diverse, both in culture and history, and intellectually uplifting. It is Robbie’s goal to recreate part of that past spirit.

Robbie went to our public schools, Wood-Gormley, Harrington Junior High and Santa Fe High School. Leaving Santa Fe for a brief period of time, Robbie spent several years attending UNM and Boston College, seeking an advanced degree in Philosophy and studying an obscure field – Historicism.

Education is of great import to Robbie, with the realization that education is not all book knowledge. Having been privileged to be raised in a community which included many family members, Robbie spent his summers as a youth working as a ranch hand for his uncle, whose ranch is now Eldorado. These were very formative years for his learning, as it was in this environment that the hard lessons of self dependency were learned.

Returning to Santa Fe in the mid 70’s, Robbie began a family. He literally beams when he says, “I am so honored to have as my daughters two of the most beautiful young women in the world, Ayesha and Andrea.” Both of these special young women attended Santa Fe Public Schools and went off to college, which seems to be the pattern of the majority of young people in our community. Robbie feels fortunate, because at least one of his daughters returned to Santa Fe, to start a career as a Santa Fe City Policewoman.

As his daughters were growing, Robbie was first licensed as New Mexico Real Estate Broker. He experienced the highs and lows of the controversy we know as real estate. Over the years he gained first hand knowledge of the city’s growth. Robbie has had the privilege of serving as the President of The Santa Fe Association of Realtors, as well as, Regional Vice President of the Realtors Association of New Mexico. He currently is a full time practitioner with Santa Fe Realty Partners, as well as a certified instructor by the New Mexico Real Estate Commission in the fields of Diversity and Cultural Awareness.

Community service has been a strong foundation in the life of Robbie Dobyns and will continue to be such. Robbie is the current Vice-President of the Northern New Mexico Radio Board, which operates KSFR, our community radio station. He also serves on the board of Open Hands.

Robbie can always be reached at (505) 577-4545.
